Steppenwolf – Herman Hesse – 1927

I read this book a while ago, so my memory of it isn’t that great, but there are a few things I can still remember. I remember it being difficult to get through, to finish. Even though it’s not a long book, there was something about it that made the reading slow–I think the main idea was pretty abstract, maybe that was part of it. From what I can recall, Hesse wrote about being in the mind of an eccentric man, a loner. His thoughts are very strange, and, although part of what he said was noteworthy, the rest was just too difficult for me to grasp.
