I read the book, The Diviners sans literature analysis. I was carried away by the spirit of this woman, Morag. I became that woman and I cried through many a part feeling and knowing the pain. I know the people with whom she has travelled, the poor, the oppressed, the dispossessed and I understood. I am one of them. I left the story feeling privileged to have been a part of the story. Her story speaks of courage, compassion and love. Margaret Laurence was able to speak of raw humanity and the invincible human spirit.
