Switch Bitch – Roald Dahl – 1974

Have you read anything by Roald Dahl? His writing style is phenomenal, and it shows clearly in the book of short stories for adults; Switch Bitch.
It combines the social commentary of George Orwell, the James-Bond dash of Ian Fleming, with a fairly tasteful treatment of sex that would have earned Henry Miller publication by the major publishing houses, and with the surprise endings that would have convinced O.Henry to choose a new career (seeing as there was no way he could have come up with anything comparable). Each story is different, and even folks with Boy Scout merit badges in mystery novels would be hard pressed to pick up the clues. There is some reason for that, in that some of the info that blows our cranial motherboards is not given until the end, but a good mystery reader should pick up on a few things as s/he goes along.
