The first-floor balcony with its pile of thirteen barbeques collapsed onto the car parked below. I suppose it was inevitable due to my husband’s uncontrollable urge. He doesn’t have many urges, never has, but collecting barbeques is an incorrigible fetish. The flat is full of them, we have seventy-five in all, stacked eight high, floors to ceilings.
He doesn’t use them just sits and admires them. He has started a barbeque appreciation society and it was on their cars the thirteen collapsed. They had arrived an hour earlier and were admiring the balcony collection at the time.
